Personally I think it looks fantastic on you. I completely understand why some people get energised about the loss of original genetics, but the truth is that there are lots of people excited by the look but unable to pull off a 44-47mm - the choice may well have been shrink or vanish.
There are too many people banging on about identity - even 38mm Panerai is absolutely, without a doubt Panerai. As with anything, if it doesn't work for you don't buy it and continue with the oversizes. I'd rather Panerai did a range of sizes than the and lass variations personally.
