I don’t track closely but I’d hazard a guess of about 7-8 mpg as I drive it… exclusively recreational “back road” drives with no commuting and no hwy. So it is always “spirited driving” but no bumper to bumper.

For comparison my 911 (997.2 4S, 6spd) gets about 16 mpg with mostly “spirited” driving.

My Viper GTS was 8.5 mpg normal driving, 5.5 spirited, no track driving, but I’ve heard about 4 mpg !

Worth every penny, nothing feels like a gen 2 Viper under hard acceleration ! RAW !

Lexus LX570 checking in (Lexus version of Land Cruiser). 17 mpg highway if we are EASY on the go pedal. 12 MPG around town if we drive without concern. But, we love this dang thing.

Wife calls it the Armageddon Vehicle.

I guess my guess was optimistic.

The torque and directness of feel - and the lumpy idle.

It is one car I won’t sell at any price.

Proud to say just the opposite. My lowly standard issue A5 produced 39.9 mpg on a return trip from Indianapolis last year. Try as I might I couldn't tip the 40 mpg mark but must say I'm impressed with the typical 30 to 35 mpg I usually achieve.

My wife is forever reminding me that she gets 45/50 MPG (big Imperial Gallons) from her 265HP, 10 year old C350 diesel estate.
And, that it's good to see that the global environment is in the safe hands of some TRF drivers.
(just her little joke )

Actually had the A5 Sportback S line as a rental a few months back and really liked it. They’re really nice. The Audi SUVs I’ve rented I really did not like but the A5 was a great little car. Nice one.

I've always been afraid to check but my Jeep seems to take all the gas I give it.

Back in the day I had a 1968 440 Magnum Dodge Charger and the joke was it could pass anything but the gas station.

My parents picked up a new Audi A5 sportback not long ago with the turbo 2.0ltr. Seems to be a really nice car! Do you know anything about the small electric motor it uses to fill turbo lag? It’s something I’m curious about.

I have 2 cars and the daily one (1.6 diesel) consumes 4L/100 km in daily driving and some 5 to 5.5L/100km on the motorway (170 km/h on cruise control)!
Pretty cool.

That's interesting, Brian. I've rented both the Q5 & Q7 in the past and absolutely loved them because they drove like my A5 and less like a typical SUV.

Sorry, that's above my pay grade and/ or mechanical knowledge.

Funny I guessed this car right away. I had one back in 2005 and while I loved everything about it - looks, comfort, sound of V8, etc. - it literally caused me to be at the gas station twice a week.
