So is that what they call a Red in Australia or is it an Australian Cattle dog? Regardless, have loved those beasties since the Road Warrior. They seem highly intelligent.

Are those Australian cattle dogs, sometimes referred to as a "Blue"? They're lovely, and look like a handful! Just had to put our Lab of 12 Years, Comet, down. They may break our hearts at the end of their lives but they make them so much better in the meantime!

Traditionally cattle dogs, tough, whereas Border Collies are sheep dogs not as tough but smarter so they don't need to be as tough.

I’ve had both and I can’t say one is smarter than the other (both are smarter than your average elected official) but I can say the ACDs are tough as boiled leather (they were bred to survive the Outback) and more independent (read: stubborn). I’ve raised over 20 different breeds in my life as we had kennels when I was young and ACDs are the most independent thinkers I’ve ever been around, which can be challenging. They not for the faint of heart but I find them endlessly amusing (yes I’m a bit of a masochist).

Dogs of TRF

This is our latest addition to the family. He was about 3 when we adopted him. Never potty trained or taught any commands, but he picked up both quickly. He also came to us with an undisclosed broken jaw and had to have some major surgeries, but he’s doing great now.

He's great and so lucky to have found a home with your family.

Dogs are so incredible.

The one in my avatar is a grande champion show dog, and yes the show dog world is just like Best In Show.

My wife got involved as sort of a hobby when we were looking for a new dog as previously we had a Wire Fox Terrier and Miniature Schnauzers. Our criteria for what dogs to buy revolve mainly what would fit through our dog door.

Sealyham Terriers are an almost or close to extinct breed and for some reason their popularity is nowhere near it's cousins like Westies and other breeds that were bred as ratters in Britain.
