The screw-down things are simple lock nuts. No gaskets in them. As long as you don't use the pushers under water you'll be fine. I leave my pushers unscrewed unless I'm in the ocean. I shower with the Daytona on and pushers unscrewed. I wash the Daytona in the sink with liquid handsoap with the pushers unscrewed. You have nothing to worry about.
