During the 2001-2003 transitioning years from the T-III to IV (new movement and no hole SEL bracelets) did the last run of drilled (holes) case watches ever leave the factory with drilled SELs . or were all SEL’s (mates to a drilled case) all solid without access to the spring bar?
I’m looking to buy another 2003 Y serial number “drilled case” watch with SEL. But the end links have the access windows to get to the spring bars. Everything I have read state these SELs should be solid without access to the spring bar. I’m assuming these SEL‘s were swapped out or factory or ?
To the best of my knowledge, during that transition period, Rolex did indeed introduce the new solid end link (SEL) bracelets, which were no longer drilled for spring bar access. However, it's possible that some watches from that era may have been fitted with leftover drilled end link bracelets or had their bracelets swapped out later.
