I have learned in my 30 plus years of watch collecting/owning/selling that if I need convincing it is not the right watch for me. When a watch is right, I am drawn to it and I know it is right from the very start. You can wear any watch you want and in any size but I think all things look best when proportional. I have a 7.5-7.75 inch wrist depending on the weather and find watches that are 36mm too small for my tastes. Does not mean that they are not some great watches in that size but just not for me. I would hold for a minute, go look at some other options and then decide. Good luck.
