As has been said already, the dial swaps of the past century were much easier to get done. That makes mincemeat of true originality.
Consider this: RSC could demand a replacement of a damaged dial due to water intrusion. They clean and reassemble the entire movement and the hands are fine. The dial is replaced with exactly the same ref#.
To the owner, it is the same watch.
