Hard to be sure from that photo, but it looks like the inner edge of the bezel insert may have been deliberately modified, i.e. filed down. If so, it could be a sign that either the insert or the bezel ring is aftermarket, and someone was trying to get it to fit. You'd need to have someone with experience take a close look, or to post good high-resolution photos.

One of the tabs appears to have broken off a blade of the clasp. You can sometimes find those blades on eBay, or you can buy a complete replacement clasp if you know how to identify authentic parts.
