Did you try with other USB ports? since we are talking about a wireless here then I presume this is USB. There are many factors that can make this happen.

My guess are:

Operating system corruption.
Driver corruption
Registry Corruption.

the best simple fix is to backup all the data and reimage the PC back to factory default.

Thanks for the sound advice, Alfred. Set back to factory setting and everything's back to normal again.
