Unfortunately, that will not be as useful as we would all hope. She'll be claiming that she was sent a fake watch after bidding on a real one.
I definitely think reporting the scam to the police to get a case/crime reference number to take to Paypal/eBay would be worthwhile. I can't imagine a scammer would get the police involved.
