My 16610 is slightly over five years old and runs about 1/2 sec slow a day.
My father's had hid DJ for 20 yrs and I think it's been serviced twice. When I bought my watch, my AD's father was in the store and he has a 16613 that was 10 yrs old at the time and he never had it serviced. He said it kept fantastic time.
You will get pros and cons on this subject so I guess it's up to you to make the final decision.
