Well, their CEO said that all new movements would have anti-magnetic functionality, which really doesn't add much to the complexity or price in manufacturing but Swatch Group will, in their own mind, be able to raise the MSRP. It is all part of a strategy to try to elevate margins to a Rolex level.

The display back is just stupid marketing-schmarketing because a) these movements aren't much to look at, and b) it adds to the thickness of the watch.

I was hoping Omega would come to their senses and skip that on a re-issue model, but not joy.

I was very glad to see the lack of date function as it possibly would make the case less thick, but then they go and use the display-back.

Price will more than likely be north of $7,250 MSRP, ergo Rolex 114060 territory, and I'm sure some MBA-executives will get an extra bonus for finally achieving price-parity with Rolex, which has been a 3-5 project for Omega/Swatch Group.
