This is a great post.

I did notice that the < symbol appears differently in each of the photographs. To my eye:

Mk I < appears to be flatter
Mk II & Mk III < open end same height as the 2 with a space between the < and the 2 (I suspect there could be some distortion in the Mk III picture that makes the < look like it is touching the minute marker)
Mk IV < appears not to be vertically aligned with the minute marker, like the previous variants and that it is actually closer to the 2

Comparing with all of the other notes I am going to say this is a Mk IV Dial. Please put me straight on what I might have missed.

Is there a publication out there that details all of the dial section differences?
