Ok, thanks! I think at this price point I prefer quartz. A mechanical service is going to be almost the price of the watch, so it becomes ever more expensive, whereas the Japanese quartz will likely just keep on going and keep great time probably for the lifetime of the watch (or me, whichever is shorter!).
Anyway, a 1968 is next on my list
