34mm is super classy. Back in the day, it was considered plenty large. Lots of guys look at wrist size when shopping for a watch. I don't think wrist size is that important. What's more important is body build. A slim to medium frame guy (under 6ft and 200lbs) looks great with a 34mm watch. Now if you are 6ft 6inches and 300lbs, a 34mm might look too small.
Conversely, a small framed guy with a huge watch doesn't look proportional, either.
