THe center bridge is for the indirect center seconds. The Promenade uses a small second hand at 5, this bridge is not necessary.
I talked with Xavier about this at Watches & Wonders today.
He laughed and said, "We anticipated that comment, and on request, we can do a special engraving on the space in the middle. Each one has to be unique, we won't do the same engraving twice."
