Never needed if for any of my rolexes. In fact, I have never needed it with any watch I owned. The one exception was a breitling. The thing seemed to fail without fail every 6 months and it was serviced several times. Ironically enough, it is also my only watch that has ever been stolen. Without surprise I wasn't too upset about it being gone, just chuckled to myself "well now I don't need to send that POS back to service anymore.". I hope it's erratic performance nickeled and dimmed the thief to death....
