Today, I want to talk to you about the logo that Rolex personalized in honor of the Crown Prince of the United Arab Emirates, His Highness Mohammed bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, which I had the privilege to photograph.
The customization with the signature of Prince Mohammed bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan can mainly be found on classic Rolex models like the Datejust and Day-Date from the first half of the 1970s.
In the Day-Date models, the customization also extended to dials known as Stella dials, of which I had the opportunity to see variants in red and sky blue. Regardless of the dial color, the signature and logo are always in green, a sacred color in Islam because it represents paradise.
Rolex Daydate ref. 1803
In all these dials, the signature has been placed in lieu of the classic chronometer certification texts, and they are generally mounted on cases made of gold or steel-gold.
I would like to thank Stefano Mazzariol (mazzariolstefanoblog) for his insights.
