Being from Buenos Aires I can say that it would be a stressful experience to buy a watch down there. Highly likely there are criminals scouting the place and tagging buyers. Especially considering the economic context right now.
If anything, bring a backpack and stay very low key, maybe ask to go to a back room.
There is also the possibility that nothing will happen and it will be a fantastic experience.
Situational and context awareness are key.
