Fluent, I live 5min from the German border. But you'll easily get around speaking English, only older folks might have some trouble speaking English.

I know you are my friend that’s why I asked about stupid yanks like me [emoji23] it’s one of those things when you’re not bilingual or trilingual as an American abroad you often feel like an idiot. It’s just not that common or needed growing up in the states to speak much more than English and a little espanol!
I’ll be sure to bring in my Dutch ultra translator when I get over there
