Good friends of mine - really car freaks and have a 35 something Ferrari collection sans their other cars - bought a 911 for their son when he turned 18 in Belgium
The story lasted almost 5 weeks . . .
Was one of the saddest days . . .
And to be honest I still need to see the first US citizen who can drive a car . . .
Even if you drive defensive . . . the rest think they are racers . . . going left and right all the time . . . blinkers not necessary . . . and than they save at least 5 minutes . . . if they are lucky . . . a day . . .
Probably there's only one here on TRF who can drive a car seriously. . . . Dr Veins ;)
Maybe old fashioned of me but that's the way it will go at my place
Just my .02

Marc,You have it together my friend.
To the OP,
I, like many here on TRF have had many cars including most on your list.
My daughter just got her license.
There is a disproportionate number of accidents with young drivers.
My daughter will drive something safe and practical till SHE can afford otherwise.
She did drive my 911 Turbo around the neighborhood.
It is very scary being the parent of a young driver.
