Audemars Piguet Jumbo

Hi all, it's no secret that the AP Jumbo is the most sought after reference of all times. From the initial 5402 to the current 16202. Though the steel variants are hard to be allocated, it's far from rare. But what about the 16202OR or 16202BA? Is it considered rare?

Precious metals are rarer than Stainless Steel models!

BA is the rarest! My boutique received only two 16202OR and none of 16202BA last year.

Conversely the steel Jumbo is significantly easier to acquire than all the precious metal variants…

I’ve assumed BC is the rarest given the shorter run, but maybe annual deliveries are similar now?

I'm on the list for 16202OR. I've decline 16202ST (told me if I get the stainless wouldn't qualify pink gold). Still waiting... it's been over 2 yrs now. I expect BC is more rare than OR.

Yeah, was told the same. Could get a 16202ST, but then the 16202BA wouldn't never happen. 2+ years.

Does the same logic apply to the (presumably even much harder to get) 16204BC? I’m not interested in a PM version of my 16202 but really liked this years‘s new open-worked WG jumbo.

I would expect same principal applies to open-work with RO family.

That would be a pity. Need to check with my SA next time. In any case I’d probably prefer a Sand Gold version over WG. Who knows when that will come out.

Wasnt laways like this versus OR, in 2017 steel was at premium while you could easily acquire OR on secondary even with the small discount

I think the premiums on steel are still bigger %-wise on the grey market. But AP allocations of the PM models are harder. Especially the BC.

With most of these "dream" pieces, if your SA didn't send you a heads up that it would be released soon, or hasn't already told you that there is one coming this year, you will never be offered it.

Yes true for premium percentage, BC agree also. Only in 2017 for OR could have been easily acquired in the store. Dont ask me how I know it but I still regret:):)
