Icon5 GMT Master II Bezel Check

First time poster, long time lurker--so apologies for the newbie question:

I am trying to figure out if the bezel on this L-Serial 16710 is real or fake--the font looks normal to me, but what is throwing me off is the fact that there appears to be a lot of space above/below the bezel numbers (i.e., the numbers don't almost touch/kiss the edges of the bezel). Have you seen variations in this spacing? Any other indications this bezel (or watch) isn't authentic?

Exactly cost around $75 or less for any 16710 insert

I went in with what I knew was an aftermarket insert and left with a new thin-font genuine insert (that's all they have now unfortunately). They charged me $65.

Your L would have originally come with a thick-font insert and likely a serif one. Only way I know to get a period correct insert is here or an auction site (eBay) but they are pricy. Changing inserts isn't too hard.

The giveaway that it's aftermarket is the straight line base of the 2s in 22; on genuine inserts, the 2s base curve slightly, conforming to the curve of the crystal.
