Another Would You?

Tried on a Rhodium dial Yacht-Master and loved it, the slimmer case was a nice touch compared to the Subs and GMT2s.

With what I currently have, I was thinking of getting rid of one of my GMT2s and getting the Yacht-Master to mix it up.

Would you:

Trade new batman for it straight and ask to see if they could source you another batman or pepsi later this year?

OR

Trade TT Rootbeer and get a couple grand back?

I would rather keep the GMT but that’s just me

I wouldn't do either. I feel like you're just looking for a change; this trade has remorse written all over it.

I personally don't see a need for two GMT-Master IIs, but that's just me. Some people, that's all they collect. I'd trade whichever GMT I cared less about and add the Yachtmaster. You'd have more variety that way. That's just how I collect; it doesn't mean it's the only way.

I would keep the TT CHNR and add in the Yacht master. Nice mix verses two GMT II models. Rhodium YM is a great looking watch!

I would keep the CHNR. I can't tell you what's best for you. It's your collection and you should configure it as you see fit.

The YM doesn't interest me because I have a Sub Date. Well, actually I have two 1166 Sub Dates, which just goes to show how difficult to manage this illness is. Mable a YM with one of my Sub Dates would have given me a more diverse and interesting collection?

We're all different. Do what appeals to you and be happy.

Isn't a used BLNR worth a lot more than a new YM? You should at the very least try to sell it yourself.

Hassle? Yes. Is the hassle worth a few thousand dollars? Yes (to me, anyway).

I did this. And am on waitlist for the BLNR. Love the yacht master but miss the blnr. Did end up a few grand ahead.

I wouldn’t do it again.

If you have the watches in your signature, then you already a nice collection and you have plenty of watches on a steel bracelet. If you like the size of the 40mm Yachtmaster, I would suggest 126555. That's 40mm black dial and bezel, everose gold, on Oysterflex. So add another everose watch, and something on Oysterflex. My.02

I wouldn't get rid of the Batman. I've said it before here. It's an OG. The first of its kind if several ways. Wear it and enjoy it.

The 40 mm YM has a case and bracelet very similar to a Daytona. The bracelet attaches to the case in a similar manner. The Daytona is my most comfortable watch to wear and I would suspect that the YM would wear similarly. I actually tried a Steel and RG one a few months back and almost pulled the trigger on it because of the similarity to the case design and bracelet.

If you cannot wait and must have it now, I recommend trading BLNR.

Dark Rhodium dial with ice blue text is gorgeous. Personally it sounds like a great plan. I would only trade if the new watch will get more wrist time than the old watch. Only you know that.

BLNR, with maybe some money coming back to you...

I’d contact one of the trusted sellers here to see if they can work out a deal.

I'd keep the CHNR and get rid of the BLNR, but straight trade doesn't seem like a good deal.

I would trade the rootbeer, not too sure about the colour combination. The YM rhodium dial is far more attractive to me. I'd keep the Batman for sure, 100%. I would only let the BLNR go if a BLRO shows up down the road.

It's a beautiful watch but I wouldn't trade a batman nor a rootbeer for it unless the pay extra cash for both of your GMTs not only the rootbeer.

I'd keep the Batman and trade the Chnr. Of course I'm biased being a Blnr owner and can't do TT.

It's a beautiful watch, but I like your current two watches better. I think the Rhodium dial looks great in pictures, but it may prove to be a little too monochromatic in person compared to your two existing ones. Either way, there's no way I'd trade either of those two. And I say that as a huge YM fan and owner.

I don't see the point of having 2 of the same watches but I like to contrast of the 2 GMTs you have and if your a die hard fan of the GMT I would say keep them both and flip the black sub for the YM2 to have some diversity in models and cases with a bonus of having a more comfortable case with some more color in the collection.

YM not YM2, the YM has a rounded case similar to Daytona and DJ. I didn't realize how comfortable it was until I tried on my friends DJ2, I was always used to the Sub style case.

I have had at least 3 GMT’s and never seemed to be able to keep them. While I loved the bezel, I was never crazy about the larger handset and seeing I have a ceramic sub, I already have a super case sports watch. The great thing about the yacht master is the elegance or the case. It is more refined then the GMT or sub and also a bit more dressy. I also wanted a dress watch but didn’t want a date just, The yacht master fits the bill just right. The bezel is amazing.

I would swap the root beer out. I personally wouldn’t see the point of two gmts and the yachtmaster is a good change up. It’s slimmer, more elegant.

I would keep what you have. You have a TT GMT on Oyster and a BLNR on jubilee. I would say there is more than enough variety there to justify keeping both.

I had the chance to buy both dial variants of the Yachtmaster 40 at an AD last week. Tried them on but they didn't do it for me. I would say of the two the Rhodium was the nicest.

Very nice collection you have by the way.
