SBGE285 - that’s an incredible watch
Man this is a good looking watch. Nice clasp finally too, good job GS. Ticked 1/3 of my peeves.
If they got it down to 12mm and tapered the brackets more 20mm to 16mm or 22mm to 18mm, I’d be ready for another GS. https://youtu.be/qJZgpvK8LYw |

Watchfinder just released a video about that same piece.
I’m typically not a fan of bare steel bezels (sorry ExpII) but the bezel on the GS looks thinner and quite nice. |

One of the best looking Grand Seikos, IMO. I wish they could hit it with a slight shrink ray, but the Spring Drive movement is large in diameter, so likely couldn't be made any smaller.

I'm thinking of buying one of these.
My only concern is the lack of micro-adjustments, as I frequently go from cold room to hot and humid outdoors, so I like being able to slightly adjust the bracelet. Question for you guys - random Seiko stores can adjust the bracelet (similar to walking into a Rolex AD and asking for the bracelet to be resized) or they're a bit more strict on requiring you go to the place of purchase? Thanks |

I was also disappointed with this one when I tried it on. It's a good looking watch but I didn't get any real wow factor when I put it on my wirst. I think it would have been better served with a different bracelet design. More taper and smaller center links would help. And yes the lack of micro adjustability is still very puzzling from Grand Seiko since it has become the standard with most brands. The Titanium is nice and light but gives the watch a cheaper feeling on the wrist. I like they they thinned the case a little. It's around 1mm thinner than my SBGE253, but it's also $2K more expensive. Honestly I still like the SBGE 253/255/257 series better.
