Mont Blanc and ST. Dupont

Hello guys,

I notice that in this forum, almost all of the showcases of collections are of Mont Blanc pens, but not even one on Dupont. I thought both brands are comparable in quality and brand recognition. IMO, I might even give Dupont the edge.

I recently bought a Dupont ballpoint after considering it over the starwalker, the reason being it felt heavier in my hands, thus gave me a (false) impression of a more expensive pen. I am now considering another purchase of a Dupont, possibly a rollerball?

But before I pull the trigger, I just wanted to ask: Is there something I do not know about Dupont pens? Why the low interest? Is it because of bad resale value? Quality issues? Etc? Your opinions are very much appreciated.

Btw, here is my Meisterstuck RB and the recent Dupont purchase.

I absolutely LOVE Dupont pens, and if comparing apples to apples, I would give Dupont the edge as well. Nothing writes like a Dupont Rollerball IMHO! And the FEEL of the pen! Wow! I'm actually using one of mine today...

I would love to add a DuPont to my "collection".

Nice pen! How's the ink of the Rollerball? I mean, does it dry up very quickly when not used for some time? That's the reason why I bought a ballpoint because my Montblanc Rollerball dries up too quickly. I had a cheap Parker Rollerball that never had a problem with the ink drying up, even after not using it for very long periods of time.

Thanks! No, it doesn't dry up. I have prolly 20 pens I rotate through, and actually, it seems the Dupont lasts the longest! My MBs are notorious for drying up quickly. And the Dupont writes like a dream!

The Dupont pens are very nice to have and use it's just that more people know the name of MontBlanc and tend to buy the one they see as having name recognition!!!
