Best Rolex AD in NYC?

Which AD in NYC would you say gets the best inventory from Rolex? Recommendations appreciated.

I'm headed to NYC and would love to build a relationship with one AD just need your help picking which one.

Thank you!

horrible place to build a relationship but if you're really set on it probably tournaeu bryant park or wempe, but wempe has too many vip clients

Honestly none of them... You can try a Wempe / Tourneau on 5th Ave but there are too many tourists and too many big fish here to build a meaningful relationship. Unless you're willing to go in (e.g. Wempe) and dump a bunch of money on jewelry and Breitlings...

Doesn't hurt to ask but it will be very slim pickings or a very long game to get a desirable piece

As others have said, the AD scene up there is awful. I do remember back in the day (late 2000s, early 2010s)when you could actually get something— I bought my first ever AD Rolex (16610) from Torneau on Madison—and it was a decent experience. So you might want to check there.

I just had a good experience at Wempe. But you won’t find any Rolex available. Had first class service at Cartier as well.

Good luck with that. One of the hardest cities to build a relationship as a new customer.

I'd recommend Wempe. They are first class.

i had success with WOS early this year- but as others have already said Good Luck - odds are as close to zero unless you come in on regular basis and even then best bet would be following up with your local AD

Wempe is not likely to sell you Rolex to non-locals unless you're a VVIP. They can't even satisfy their local clientele. but theres always a chance. inventory may be larger at WOS or Bucherer/Tourneau but I think so is their client list

Watches Of Switzerland (and/or Mayors Jewelers when in the SouthEast USA). They're global and keep a database of clients. I've stayed loyal and they've been great to work with... including an extra Rolex bracelet for the SkyD blue and special requests :)

they have 2 here and one of them is horrible (hudson yards). completely uninterested SAs who don't even wanna talk to you. might just be the rolex section of it but still just a bad experience every time. no experience with the other though

yeah totally agree the Hudson Yards locations leaves something to be desired. not even sure why they have SAs working in the Rolex section

As a fellow CA native who grew up in the Bay, just out of curiosity, how come you want to establish a relationship with an AD all the way in New York rather than one in the Bay or even LA? If you fly out to NYC often for work or other things, then that's understandable. Nonetheless, NYC is just as competitive as SF or LA so it's essentially going from one hornet's nest into another.

Tourneau on Bryant Park. I’ve got a good relationship and have been fortunate. You’ll be fine as long as you understand the only time you’re getting something is when a VIP doesn’t want it.

I agree - Wempe is good but no Rolex at all. Breitling or Cartier - no problem
I've had luck at Bucherer 57th.

OP, your request sounds kind of naive, not sure what you’re expecting.
If you’re moving to NYC I’d suggest going to all of them to get a feel for their policies and procedures and stick with the best fit. If you’re expecting to walk into one as a tourist and walk out with a Rolex, that’s not going to happen.
That said I’ve always been treated courteously at every New York watch store I’ve browsed in, except one. Wempe and the Soho WOS stand out as being solid watch guys who love to show and discuss their wares. I walk in wearing a Rolex but I’m not asking for one. My negative experience happened last November at the Hudson Yards WOS. I’d been there before and had good treatment but this time a very bored looking guy literally stepped in front of me at the six feet wide open door to quiz me about why I wanted to come in. The store wasn’t crowded and they had security, no reason I could see except rudeness. His line of questioning was so weird I just turned and walked away.

I had a similar experience at Hudson Yards WOS.

Are you moving to NYC? If you’re SF based, doesn’t make sense to try to establish a relationship out here.

I’ve actually had a great experience at WoS at the Hudson Yards

Got a DJ36 Wimbledon dial w/ fluted on Jubilee 2 months after I expressed my interest and the people there have been nothing but nice

Looking to get a Batman next and they seemed pretty positive about me getting it but time will tell!

Bucherer TimeMachine is worth a shot. They are the largest Rolex AD in North America (so I'm told), and get a lot of Rolex deliveries. I was offered a Exp2 Polar 3 weeks after first visiting the store in early December 2022. I did purchase a Tudor BB Pro on my first visit.

I agree with others on this thread, try to stay local.

I just went to that AD and NO ONE spoke to me. It was an odd experience. I would not give them my business.
