NAvitimer Sunbathing!

Basking with my radium blazing 1955 Valjoux 72 pre 806 in some Oz sun:).

Btw realised AOPA who these watches were originally made for still exists today

Your getting some great older Breitling's there. Are you planning on the spa treatment for this one?

Thanks. She did have a movement only service and some rust scraped off the hands but I think I will keep her the way she is, don't want to ruin any originality since doing anything else might damage the radium lume which is irreplaceable:).

That's close to true conservation, not trying to take it back to new. I thought you might have said the above. The patination is stunning, so long as any further deterioration has been arrested.

Is the steel bracelet original? Or are you thinking of putting on a leather strap?

The bracelet back then was made by other companies, this ones a vintage Japanese Champion bracelet which was commonly supplied with these watches back then. I do intend trying a leather one on it though. Will have to check if anything can be done to prevent any detoriation esp since the radium is still in it's active state but thern again it's been like that for 67 years.
