Where can I buy a screw pin for a Ladies' DateJust bracelet?

A friend of mine has a screw pin fall out of her bracelet that must not have been tightened well. She went to Jared's, where she bought it, and they told her that they need to send it off to Rolex and it might cost $750. What a joke! All she needs is one screw pin that holds the links together. Where can I point her?

Where in TX are you? There is a Rolex service center in Dallas. You could go there directly.

Anyone?

This isn't about the movement, or some non-authentic bracelet, or whatever. I'm trying to locate A SCREW! Can it really be this difficult?! There are a bunch of offerings on ebay but I have no idea which ones match a ladies' DJ.

It should be easy to get at a dealer, except for Jared obviously

Their quote is ridiculous.

Are there any other dealers in town? What about independent watchmakers who have a Rolex parts account?

Oyster - I think her watch is this one:

Rolex Watches - Datejust 31mm - Steel Fluted Bezel - Oyster Bracelet

Style No: 178274 sso

http://www.swissluxury.com/rolex-wat...r-bracelet.htm

Would have to ask her what year it's from, but it's the "new style" clasp.

Jareds is apparently a Jewelry store without any servicing capability or customer service good sense if they originally sold the watch..

Find yourself an AD that has a watchmaker on staff.. Nobody would charge 750 bucks to put a screwbar in a bracelet.

Otto Frei will sell you some, although shipping charges will be more than the screwbar..

You can get a brand new link for like $75.00 retail for the 72160 bracelet. They are crazy with that price. I thought I might have one in my box of links, but I don't have one for the new style bracelet which I'm pretty sure uses a different size screw than the old one. If I had one I would send you one just to get your friends watch going again, sorry !

No need to go to the RSC to get it fixed. Call around to another AD and see if they will sell you a link or get one for you. You can put the screw back in yourself with a small eyeglass screwdriver if you don't have a set of jeweler/watchmaker screwdrivers. I would also check her watch to make sure all the other screws are tight.

I would stay clear of that Jareds thats for sure !!

You may ask her to look in the Rolex box to see if there is a spare link as it will contain the screw. That will get her up an running. Then she can find the part number on the bracelet and provide the part number to a watchmaker. Else, just hand him the watch he'll know what to do. Rolex screws cost $5 as I recall.

If she doesn't care about paying $50 for a screw (which is ridiculous in itself), which is the right screw to buy from Ofrei?
