Been debating this for a while.. opinions appreciated!

Been thinking of swapping my 15400 blue dial RO into a DD40. Preferably the WG olive dial or YG silver. I owned the RG olive before and while it was an absolute beauty to look at, I feel it didn't match my skin tone as well and frankly did not wear it as often as I normally would.

Money wise they are all close in value in the grey market so I have no problem "upgrading" or whatever.

I personally feel the WG olive would fare better for normal day-to-day activities but in 2024 I don't know if all this really matters even if I did the same with YG silver.

Any opinions/thoughts on the matter or if I should even do this trade is appreciated.

For what it's worth I do love the RO but I have been craving a PM watch lately and the DD40 is the one I chose.

I think it’s a logical trade as they both fill the same niche in a lot of ways. I’ve had all of these watches and can’t necessarily put one above the other. If you can carry the YG confidently it’s hard to deny the beauty of the DD40 but seeing as you were unsure of wearing the RG last time I’d be sure you want a piece that’s even louder on the wrist.

Both are amazing pieces, you can’t go wrong.

If this is a daily wearer, I think you should stick with the AP RO, it is the way to go and very versatile. The gold one is an amazing piece, however, do you see yourself wearing it daily and in all settings?

Every time I see the Gold watch, I keep getting the itch of wanting to acquire it but then I keep realizing it’s not a daily for me. So it will just sit there accumulating dust until I find the right occasion to wear it.

Wishing the best in whatever you decide.

If I had a blue dial 15400, I'd never part with it. Just this guy's two eurocents.
Cheers

Sounds like a good move to me. If the RG didn't stick I'd go with the WG.

Trade a steel RO for a Daydate? I would definitely do that trade!
