Vintage Omega pieces?
Hi,
I'm looking to purchase my father, whom was born in 1963, an automatic watch from 1963. I don't want to spend more than $500, if possible. Have any of you seen anything out there for sale lately? If no Omega, any other popular manufacturers during that era? Thanks in advance! -Wes |

Constellation PiePan '63 on Beads of Rice bracelet will suit any older gentleman with silver hair. The 5xx series movements are as tough as nails, easily on par with the Rolex 15xx series.

Great gift idea. I was born in 63 as well, and have collected a number of pieces from that year. Within your budget amount, you should be able to find a very nice Seamaster, or if you're lucky a Constellation. Here are a couple of Seamaster variants from that year.
Here is my 63 Pie Pan. For Omegas, look for movement serial numbers in the 20mm range and/or a case back with a 63 stamp. If you expand your search beyond Omega, I'd recommend Longines and Universal Geneve from that time period. Post a WTB here and on other sites (TZ, WUS). Good hunting!

Thanks for the prompt responses, everyone. Beautiful watches! I'll post a WTB thread and continue looking for what you all suggested.
Thanks again! |

Hit up some Omega forums...I'm sure you'll find what you're after.

J, those are beautiful old Omegas! Nothing like a nice vintage Omega!
Here is my "bumper" from the 50's and it still keeps great time. It was serviced 2 years ago after having set idle for years. Cheers, Bill P. |
