If the crystal of a Rolex is changed by Rolex themselves will you ever be able to tell that the work was done?

For the past decade Rolex has etched a small crown on the crystal at the 6 oclock position to help deter counterfeits..

If it has been replaced, it will have an S in the etching for Service Replacement..

For watches before that, or acrylic crystals, you can't tell..

Well will this reduce the value of the watch, or its' integrity in any way? My concern being that the scratch was present when i bought the watch brand new so it wasn't my fault that it got scratched in the first place.

Having a scratched crystal will reduce the value.......... having a replaced crystal shouldn't have any affect at all.....

Light scratches can be polished out, even on sapphire.

No, it is held in place by the bezel.
