What do you think of Michael Kors watches?

I am just curious as to what ROLEX fans think of Michael Kors watches?
I bought one for my daughter on her 18th birthday -- she totally loves it.

No matter where I go, I see women who have taken these watches to heart.

MK watches from horological point of view, are nothing but blinged out,
cheap chinese quartz junk, am I correct?

Thank you

Typical departments store designer watches, nothing wrong with them if that is what you like

Garbage but they are affordable and seem to be popular with the ladies. Thankfully my wife thinks they look cheap and wears a Rolex.

Fashion brand. It never was meant to be fine horology.

You could say the same about the guys and their Casios, if you wanted to.

Glad your gal is enjoying hers.

My 18yr old daughter wanted to wear my wife's YachtMaster to highschool.... she got a big NO from my wife .... Then she came after my DEEPSEA .... she got a big HELL NO from me ....
so my wife and I decided to get her the MK watch ...she tells me that other highschool girls go totally
gaga over it... Oh well, this new generation of ipods and iphones, they can't appreciate the quality of a
Rolex and MK fits them just right...

I wonder if some big sellers on TRF sales forum will take one as partial trade?

You are right MK is perfectly fine for an 18-year-old. Down the road maybe a Rolex. I was wearing Swatch watches when I was 18.

My girlfriends a huge michael kors fan (were the same age as your daughter) and people in my old highschool loved them. My girlfriend either wants one of those, a MOP movado with diamonds, or a rolex pearlmaster. I think im gonna get her the movado though because I can get one for 70% off of msrp and it makes it 100-200 more than the MK. the pearlmaster is more than im worth and the michael kors is all plastic and that just bothers me.

We bought my wife's sister one when in FL this autumn. She loves it.

It wouldn't be for my wife though. She's a ND Sub girl.

They're no better, and also no worse, than costume jewelry. As Chicfarmer pointed out, they're not meant to be fine horology, just eye-catching.

Bought one for my wife around 3 yrs ago. She wore it for maybe 6-9 months and the "rose gold" faded.

Now its in a drawer somewhere while she wears her Rolex 24/7

That:

"Typical departments store designer watches, nothing wrong with them if that is what you like"

Plus this:

No difference from those diesel, guess, emporio armani watches etc. Personally not worth having but there are demographics who are attracted to these watches and that is who these watches are targeted at.

I think those posts above are words of wisdom, well said indeed!

A lot of customers in my store wear MK watches. Although I don't believe it's really my girlfriend's style (or the style of the women I know for that matter) they do look good on some people. If the wearer likes it, I don't see any problem at all.
