Should I Wait???

I've been highly considering the Tudor BB Chrono in white dial recently. Saw a black dial one in the flesh while at an AD event, my SA went to grab it from the customer. Held it and was really impressed with it. Later I put a deposit down for the white dial, I'm 6th on the list. However, my SA advised me that I could get mine sooner. There was only 1 person on the list for the black dial. Their list consist of people who put a deposit down. They also have a list for those who wish to wait with no deposits after the people with deposits get theirs

Anyways, my question is, should I jump on this when it comes in or do you think if I wait to pick one up when the hype dies down, I can possibly get it at a discount? Doesn't seem like it's going to be a difficult piece to get but maybe I'm wrong?

This will also be my first Tudor purchase.

Bought a couple of Tudors about 3 years ago and got 25% off both . I believe those days for new Tudor models are gone .

I would get what I actually want. Not what’s available

The only Tudors you might ever get a discount on are the old chronos, Pelagos and other slower moving models...and 10% at best. That’s with an established relationship at an AD. It’s still possible but not easy.

That being said, the new chronos aren’t going to go for a discount anywhere in the foreseeable future. Same as the BB58 since its release. Plus we’re talking what, a 5k watch? Not sure I’d bother to play the waiting game over $500 or less.

Always get the one you want. If it takes a year as opposed to a month I'd still wait it out.

You either want to buy a watch or you don't. Simple.

Always go for the first choice and get it ASAP from your AD, so you can start enjoy it.

These replies best answers my question, thank you!

I know I want the watch, but don't want to be the person that buys something to be first when I can get it for $1k+ less than msrp within a year or so. Looks like that won't be the case. I'll likely get it when my AD gives me the call

Tudor is a dime a dozen, wait a few weeks/couple months and you will see them everywhere. It's not Rolex my friend

That was my original thought process. If I wait 6-12 months, does anyone think I can get a 20% discount on one of these?

Yes, I'm watching this thread as well. I liked the new Black Bay Ceramic, but paying retail for a watch that will be around a while is not my cup of tea. I like it at 20% off if possible as a standard discount.

Tudor’s are aplenty and buy what you want or take a bath in the place filler you’ll eventually sell.

Don’t settle here, in the big picture these aren’t hard to get or terribly expensive watches.

i haven’t yet to see a modern tudor that consistently demands premium in second hand market, even the BB58 can be had used below MSRP. i’m sure same thing would happen to the new chrono

No. I don’t think you’re getting discounts on their more popular models. There is no reason to, they are super popular and affordable.
