Realistic wait-time DJ36 green dial

I’m 95% sure at this point that I want to put in for a 36mm DJ with the green dial on jubilee this summer (instead of the Explorer 1 I had initially considered).

I’ll be in Atlanta next week and want to go by Mayor’s to have a conversation absolut that. In an ideal world something would materialize in July or so when I have some unallocated funds come in.

I’m thinking Mayors as they also have a place in Florida that I can reach. Would the stores work on this for me or are they completely independently operating - or worse, so spoiled at this point that they don’t care unless you buy a bunch of gaudy jewelry and watches you don’t really want?

I’m pretty sure I can make it clear that I’m not some random flipper and why my “purchase history” is in several other parts of the world given I’ve moved a few times.

I have nothing truly locally here in South Georgia but would be willing to make a trip to those places.

Go to the store, get put on a list and wait. There isnt much else to it.

I would have thought the different Mayor’s stores are quite independent, in terms of managing their wait lists.

As many have said before, there is no science to it. Watches comes in, the sales assistants take their turn in picking out the watches they want and they match them to the clients the have, be it new or existing.

Your best chance to to keep going in to the store and ensure they remember your name and face. Have a story that differentiates you and make them feel like your are not a one and done buyer.

Short of that, you can probably pick that watch up quite easy on the grey market.

Thanks. Yeah that’s the thing. I live 3-4h away from any of those locations. So I won’t regularly walk in. And no, I’m not paying over retail. It’s good for a 9k watch. It’s not a 12k watch.
