Curmudgeons Unite!

After the Basel debut of the new Rolexes.....I sense a difference of opinions on the styling directions of Rolex.
So.....those of you who are in the retro-grouch-curmudgeon camp, and you know who you are......you are invited to join the global association of retro-grouch-curmudgeons.
No dues, no intricate initiation, no big time rules & regs......just a simple mantra you chant daily.....
"bah humbug"
We do have 1 request we ask.....please no watches the size of a Chicken of the Sea tuna can

Brothers & sisters can I get a loud "bah humbug"?
There, don't you feel healed?

p.s. PM me so I can register you in the family
(remember like the Mafia or Yakuza, once you're in you're in)

Bah Humbug, Bah Humbug, Bah Humbug!

If we're like the Yakuza, do I have to get a full body-suit tattoo?

Please note there is no "precision" or "superlative chronometer officially certified" on the dial, so the question is moot!

I have to say I'm not a fan of the supersizing of Rolex. I'm sure it's cool for those with large wrists, but my old Sub was borderline on being too big for me.

I own a 45mm breitling I would be in but I might get whacked if I dont disclose that I do have a couple watches that are a little larger......none over 45mm though my wrists would be too small for that. I also dont like the look of huge watches 45mm is really pushing my limit. I like 42mm or less. If I get the Omega Planet Ocean it will be 42mm. I dont like the DJ 2 And The exp 2 was good the way it was. I really hope they put a stop to how large they go. I guess I hope Rolex stays away from the trend to go larger and larger. I will allow the good Doc to choose my fate.

Yes.......we have a family!
At least 15 brother curmudgeons are on board!
Next year, brother curmudgeons.......a charter flight to Basel.....armed w/ pitchforks & torches....we head straight to the Rolex booth & protest big time!
can I get a big Bah Humbug, brothers (I guess we have no female curmudgeons?)

One small curmudgeonly rant......Mr. Rolex moved the 36mm datejust to the women's section on their website.......now I have nothing against women.....I love them....& I have the ex-wives to prove it.
But this does not sit well with me.....I have a 36mm datejust & I am a manly curmudgeon......I'm mad as hell & I'm not going to take it any more! Bah humbug, rant over, jeez I feel better already.

Welcome to all R.G.C.'s

BAH HUMBUG!

I suppose Sir Edmund Hilary was big girls blouse when he climbed Everest wearing (carrying?!) a 36mm Explorer!?!

By the way I'd have thought, with a string of ex-wives, that would mean you DID N'T love women and you DID have quite a lot against them!

Do you think we'll get our pitchforks onto the plane to Basel or will we have to go to Gustav's Pitchfork and Firebrand Supply Store once we land? (and do you think Gustav will give us bulk discount?
