I found out where all these Rolexes are going... Disneyland!

Tongue in cheek of course. But we go to Disneyland about 3-4 times a year, and I have not seen as many Rolexes as I did on our recent trip.

This is just one day, mind you. I saw a 5 digit Explorer II Polar, 5 digit GMT (I think Pepsi), at least 3 Datejusts, and a Daytona on OF. And you know damn well there were at least 5 people there wearing Subs that I didn't spot. I was one of them,

Oh, and I spotted a Nautilus as well.

Not a perfect analogy, but I felt like Steve Carrell in The Big Short when he's in Florida and exclaims, "yep, it's a bubble!".

Strangely I don't think I saw many nice watches other than Rolex. Didn't see any Cartiers or Omegas, for example. Speaking of Omega, it always surprises me how rarely I see Speedy Pros in the wild. In fact, I don't recall ever seeing one! For how popular they seem to be and how well Omega sells, it's always surprising. I've seen Seamasters and POs, though not on this trip.

Disney World is great watch spotting. I take the family there for a extended vacation every year and it’s always big game watch spotting.

May I ask for favourite accommodations for Disneyland? Have been itching to get to California this spring. No trips since 2019 :(

I like to stay on-site if possible (usually Grand Californian), but man you think grey market Rolex prices are overcharging for "what you get"...

It's a very nice hotel and location can't be beat (there's a direct entrance into California Adventure), but it's definitely overpriced.

If staying off-site, I really enjoyed a recent stay at the Westin (it's fairly new so very clean). We also used to stay at the Hyatt House a lot, was very good pre-pandemic but recent reviews seem to suggest they are struggling a bit.

So I'd recommend staying on-site if possible, and if going off-site I highly recommend the Westin.

Agree. I've feasted quite fully with my eyes rolex-spotting every time I've been to Disneyland.

I've also seen quite a lot in Hawaii/Vegas as well.

I see you Grand Floridian (at least it looks like it). We go pretty often but always stay in the cheap seats. One of these days we are going to splurge on the GF or Polynesian. Really enjoy watch spotting around the resort too.

We have a slightly longer journey, but have been a "few" times. We stay in Contemporary because we like the fact that we can walk to Magic Kingdom and we like the fireworks from our balcony.

Haven't been to Disney World for about 3 years (covid) but always a good place to watch spot, especially during the parades.
I guy in my hotel, Coronado Springs, had a vintage GMT on. I complimented him and he was surprised it had caught my attention. He'd had it for decades and was his only watch that he wore 24/7.
On a trip to the Florida Mall, I saw a bluesy on display at Mayors. Still regret not grabbing that but I'd already spent far to much on the holiday.
In the past, I've taken beater watches for days at the parks but this year, I'm probably taking my JC Deepsea and will rock that bad boy.

10 people wearing Rolex; 10,000 people wearing Apple; 50,000 people not wearing a watch at all.

Not sure how this makes Disneyland the place to find Rolex wearers.

This.
So many things to enjoy there.
Don't look at watches.

Today and Friday at the waste management Phoenix open in Scottsdale I saw more Rolex than I’ve ever seen in my life.

4-5 BLRO/BLNR, a white Daytona, countless subs and sea dwellers (maybe 20-40?). Surprisingly the deep sea was probably the watch I saw the most of.

I've spotted many a Rolex and hidden Mickey in my favorite place too. At least three times a year.

Never been to Disneyland but we make an annual pilgrimage to Disney World. We usually stay at one of the hotels on the “monorail loop” for a week or two. As others have said above, I always see a ton of nice watches there.

I was at Epcot at the Rose & Crown enjoying a pint and people watching outside. A couple asked to share my table and we got into a conversation about Rolex watches. He spotted my Sub ND and complimented me on it. He wanted to get a DJ that he spotted at a local AD.

We hit up Disney pretty often and do spot the occasional Rolex. I usually have a steel one on as well because it’s pretty perfect for a do anything outing with the kiddos.

Funny, every time I go to a theme park I think of the other line from that "Big Short" FL trip:

"It's like someone hit a piñata full of white people who suck at golf."
