I think it's a bedbug.
That is quite intriguing, in no small part because I've not seen any launches in August that I can remember in the few years, I've been following these things. To me that looks like a section of a crown protector and above it there seems to be a bezel. Now, I see the picture has changed from on where the serrations are visible and now they aren't. The color is kind of strange, except for blued hands and screws and such. We have some sleuths here for sure. Wait! On the sight you can't see the serrated bezel, but in the picture below it is visible. So, it's a DSSD of some sort with some blue somewhere.

The shape of the bezel doesn't look exactly as the one of a Gmt BLRO |

Mmhhhh... No idea but I would be surprised to see a new model at this point.
Maybe that thing is a sort of security "tag"? Kind of a feature that can be added to a any watch in the lineup? |

I just took a look in the Rolex Press Room and there's nothing more there, FWIW.

We could only hope it's an SS Pepsi GMT (I know, likely wishful thinking).

Has Rolex ever done anything like this in the past? I would be surprised if it was anything different than what was presented at Basel.
