"This is my last watch" medical attention required

"This is my last watch" has anyone ever said that?
I said it a few years back and now I am at it again. I joined TRF recently and it hasn't helped. Is it curable or do I need to manage this for the rest of my life? But I'm really certain this next purchase WILL be my last.

Me too - sort of. I told her I was done with watches "for a while". I wish I hadn't said anything because I try to keep my word. I doubt she would consider 6 months "a while".

I've heard through the grapevine that 99.4% of TRF members are sick with what is called Horology Fever... The last incoming thread I posted here I VOWED that this would be my last... Needless to say I have been having hot flashes ever since publicly making that comment...

Michael this is a losing fight, hence me adopting Mike Kilyung's favorite quote in my signature... Heh, heh, heh...

Of all the addictions that one could be afflicted with... this seems pretty benign...

Can't we just enjoy a hobby without creating a stigma...

Great watches are an investment for the kids...

(I am just practicing lines for when my wife finds out about the next one...)

I think my wife would prefer sex, drugs, and alcohol at this point over watches.

It's true. I'm going to start saying "well at least I don't gamble, drink, or cheat on you".

and I can see why because there are so many nice (ie bloody expensive) watches on here and the more time you spend here the more normal it becomes to spend five, then ten then even twenty grand on a bit of metal on your wrist that no one even notices - why the hell am I not interested in Porsches any more??? This is really a sickness...

I often refer to a watch as "this is my LATEST watch."

I've said it twice before and every time I say it I believe it. When I purchased my last watch I even believed it, but now I'm starting to think about acquiring a Green SubC., maybe that will be my last!

""This is my last watch" medical attention required"

You don't need an MD - you need a striaghtjacket!!!

A Shrink might help, but the restraints will keep your hands off your wallet

AK797 hit the nail right on the head......"20 grand on your wrist that no one ever notices". How true! I've had several people look at my Patek Aquanaut like it was a $15 timex. I truly dont mind...afterall, I buy my watches for me and not to impress others. But still........

You're all sick here. I'm ok, because after my next purchase I'll be cured. I only need one more.
Did anyone have a soft spot for Gollum?
