Congratulations. This has nothing to do with dignity or a lack thereof. I see it as an opportunity afforded the OP for the purchase of an item that was going to be bought anyway. Great watch. Enjoy.

Don’t feel bad, that store and SA make more off the earring sale than any watch they sell. This sounds like a win win for everyone.

Congrats to you and your wife for a pair of beautiful diamond earrings and gorgeous BLNR.

I think you’re doing good for the deal. It’s like you buy BLNR from secondary market and get a pair of diamond earrings as a free gift.

Happy people always think positive.

A result!

Apply logic - why all the dismissive hate when the whole transaction started with the jewelry anyways, its not like the AD tried to fob a $20k necklace on you after asking about the watch. In my mind they were taking care of you and offered you a nice opportunity.

Not surprised, this happens more often than not. I have an idea of which AD this was.

Please make that stick. These names are so silly/embarrassing. Please take that name for the JLC...you have my permission.

if he was going to buy the jewellery anyways, I don't fault the OP. However, the AD doing this puts a bad taste in my mouth in general for the Rolex market.

I’m not offended by this. A more difficult situation is your AD is the Rolex only boutique and you own most of the hot models. There is nothing you can buy to geese the wheels.

I just had the same happen at a new ad I’ve been going to, I was buying my wife something anyway, asked about a batgirl, for all of you who hate nicknames, and one appeared after I bought the ring, so I bought it.. a huge majority of ad’s play that game and from a pure $ perspective why wouldn’t they? They see everyone selling them for 18-20k and they can’t so they make it up with jewelry that we all know is overpriced on a good day but again what’s the difference, at least you have something to go with the watch and not just pay 100% over retail. I’ll have it Tuesday and that deal worked for me, I suspect most people on this forum would do the same given the opportunity

Agree 100%. This story does bring up the common question of what inventory is really back in the safe at all these retailers that we are oblivious to.
