Bang on! That's why you can't go wrong with a black dial / white hands combo

I'm glad I don't like 'em ;) That alone has saved me upwards of $10,000
I much prefer my cream dial Broad Arrow (with date). |

I don't like it because it's no "Date". So I prefer Sea-Dweller.

tbh i've onl;y had 2 out of this AD and i'm only 6 months into my LV. In truth I'm not ready for the daytona yet.. I'm glad to be on a list and actually look forward to the wait.. should make it more of an event - in truth I wanted it as a 40th present to myself but looks like it;s gonna hit a year or 2 early.. oh well out of interest are you going for a black or white dial. for me i'm going white as the rest of my watches are all black or Blue faces. plus i much prefer the black WG Daytona. |

Though I have been able to wear a SS Daytona for a day I must say I did not love it... I prefer having a date and it just was not as readable as the chrono I am used to (Omega SMPC).
The way some dealers use it as a big baited hook for watch fanatics is so unfair too... does limiting the supply really do anything to serve we the consumer or just Rolex and ADs?

I like the Daytona from an aestetic POV as well as a functional POV, as it's likely the most robust and accurate automatic chronograph made today.
However, I don't subscribe to the 'myth' of the Daytona, nor the over-inflated MSRP, let along the insane price scumbag graymaket flippers are selling them for... plus I would hazard a guess that most SS Dee owners who are not true WIS' wear them for the wrong reasons. So I'll take a Breguet TransAtlantique any day of the week over a Daytona. |

I just think the modern Daytonas are ugly compared this this one. If I could afford one like this I might consider it, but then again there are many other watches I would put my money into before buying a Rolex.

Definitely the price and lack of options really..
SS is the only model I could afford at this time and even then it would be a stretch. On top of that the two dials offered in SS are lack luster compared to some of the AMAZING options offered in precious metal or TT. Not meant to knock anyone's watch by any means. I totally get the heritage of the SS Daytona as well. Just saying the only way I'd ever get one would be in SS with a dial I acquired from a WG model - likely the meteorite!

I love that watch! BTW, I have the SS Daytona and the ND sub for the same reasons as mentioned above. Classic & clean...

Love the look of the Daytona, I just don't like the fact they are often sold above MSRP. Yes there is a shortage of them at AD's but there are tons of them available either used or grey, so why should I have to pay a premium when there are loads available.
There isn't anything about the watch I don't like like, I just don't want to either have to wait up to 3 years on some list or pay pay a premium getting one on the grey market. My answer is in reference to modern Daytona's of course. |

I had a black dial SS Daytona for about a year, but could never get used to the smallish dial, hard to read hands, and lack of date. Beautiful watch, but just not for me. I much prefer my 16710 or 16610.

I miss my black dialed Daytona except for the black dial
It was very comfortable to wear, but I didnt care for the black dial at all. The issue now is; do i go for the ss white dial OR the WG Panda. The Panda is the dial I prefer, but I see no purpose in white gold...sooo.... IF I could find a panda dial and hand set and put it in a white dialed ss It would be perfect.

Ditto - great watch, but I like my Speedmaster better. So I wouldn't consider buying a Daytona unless it were cheaper than Speedy. It just so happens that the out-the-door Daytona price is usually about *three* times as much!

I think that the case diameter is a little small. With so much stuff on the dial I believe that it should be 41mm. Needs more dial.
