I got the call! Not from the AD though... Latest pick up!

Hi all just wanted to share my latest pick up! A new to me Daytona Platinum 116506. Originally purchased 2017.

Unpolished and untouched. My issue now is i am torn between having it LIGHTLY polished or not. Haha the previous guardian of the watch really enjoyed it haha.

Heres a pic of my new baby

Been eyeing one for a while now. Found one that fits the bill. Couldnt say no 🥲20231026_104915.jpg

Wow huge congrats that’s a hitter!!

I personally would go for the polish just so it’s fresh and crispy for you to put new scratches in. Others will disagree but that’s my thought.

Let us know what you decide!

Nice! Congratulations. I would personally leave it as it is and enjoy it, just like the previous owner did, until it's time for service. I think it’s more enjoyable to wear a watch that has been scratched by someone else than to polish it, baby it, and ultimately scratch it yourself, which can be very painful initially

If it's new to you then I'm an advocate for getting it tidied up, once it's your marks on it you keep them.

You can take a cape cod cloth over the shiny bits to tidy it up the hairline marks, just be sure mask up the brushed bits. You won't do any harm with a cloth.

Congratulations nothing quite like a platinum Daytona! As for polish? That would depend on who is doing the polishing.

If the condition prevents you from enjoying that gem to the fullest, polish it. If it wouldn't matter much to you, just wait until service.

Either way, it is simply a sublime watch and I'm super stoked for you!

Wear it often in the best of health!

Polish if you wish, but Platinum is soft. If you polish it, the bracelet scratches are going to come right back.

Huge congrats! If it shows a good amount of wear, I'd do the polish and make all the future marks your own.

If it’s never been serviced, I’d suggest waiting for its first service to polish. Due in another 3 or 4 years.

Huge Congrats!

I agree with this which is why I don’t mind purchasing carefully worn preowned.
