Gone lighter and brighter ...

On day whatever-number it is, of this ... pause, time to shift from German dark to Spanish light.

It’s (very) white, it’s a stone dial called cacholong, a type of white opal

Nice pair of DayDates!

Feels like the vintage dials have much more character than the current iterations.

Very nice pair.

I see T Swiss T on the black dial.

Is there Tritium?

Thanks for all the gracious comments - The white Cacholong dial DD has been missing in action for six months now (since last October), and was 100% presumed to have been lost/stolen en route from Portugal. It has only now found its way into my hands ... which itself is a whole ‘nother story!

Search reveals only 2 previous Cacholong dials in all of TRF, one DJ which is now just a broken link, and one other (English) DD, so obviously it was never a popular dial ... like, not at all! (I think even I would like it better without the 6/9 markers, but it seems it was never offered that way.) I do like the contrast of the two stone dials, very black onyx and very white Cacholong.

Nope, no tritium on the onyx one at all, dial nor hands.

Thanks James, I was wondering if Cacholong was the same stuff that opal miners call potch.

I've done some reading and potch is opal matrix and is very inconsistent and different from cacholong which is much finer, consistent and usually pure white.

Absolutely love this dial, I've been looking for one ever since your post!!
