Need expert thoughts for 14060M
Hi guys,
Find one owner 14060m deal locally from a non-watch collector but Rolex lover. I sawed the watch on hand really. 1. condition is decent used with back-sticker, definitely non-polished with chamfer significantly, minor scratch since he is careful with daily use. 2. full set + owner's purchase receipt back to 2011 through AD 3. with 2 services record back 2yrs ago and 6 yrs ago through local AD. Asking $9500 (quite firm), I know it was much experience than the modern sub-model, but 14060m is really different. So I am wondering does that worth buying today or I need to hold? thanks |

Is this a real post? Do you own google? $9500 is crazy high.
They are going for like $6500-7000 |

With all due respect, that is a stupid price. If a dealer quoted me that price I would literally reply back with "ok, let me know when you are serious."
Its the equivalent of you offering $4,000. Also, 2 services in 9 years? Seems odd. |

Yes, understand your opinion. And compare with dealer’s market, seems dealer’s market is more decent from 6k to 8.5k. I just didn’t know how to react from Individual/collector perspective for that $9500. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

2 services but with the back sticker seems odd... And 2 since purchase is odd.
4 line or 2 line? The 4 line ones with B+P do go for a lot more. |

how can you confirm its un-polished if it’s serviced twice already. did you get the serviced receipt and a list of things done to the watch?

4line random full set, on purchase receipt show 2011. The detail on Ad record I saw is normal and they showed the time on the same month different year, he is just done services periodically I guess. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Well, the 4 line Randoms do seem to command the highest price. So you have to decide if the details like the random serial number and possible parachrome hairspring are important enough to pay a 1-3K premium.

A private seller asking $9.5k? I would give him no more of your time. Never polished, I doubt it. Unless he specifically asked for it not to be. That should be evident on the itemized receipt from servicing.

Sounds nice but not at that price. Couple grand less perhaps. There are hundreds online.

This watch has increased in price in the las 2 years, I bought my 4liner 2007 for 6500 Euros, but the price now as full set range from 8-9K.
In Europe...in the USA is always a bit cheaper....don’t know why. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

DavidSW has a 4-liner complete set listed for almost $9k. Complete set 4-liners are not that easy to find anymore. Trust me, I just went through this exercise because this is the reference I recently sought out to buy. Took me a few months to find the one that was right for me. The service history you brought up definitely warrants further investigation.

The price is too high as others have stated. I would aim for 8k. In my experience the 14060m is not rare so if this seller's price is firm, another one will come along. I am more of a two-liner guy since I already have a SubC with a novel on the dial :) So if 4-liners may be pricier, but even so 9.5k is too much.

If this piece is actually as good as you are describing, I don't think the price is bad:
1. Complete sets are getting harder to find, 2. Good condition 14060m are getting harder to find, 3. With regards to "market value". An attractive price, usually involves a watch with unattractive features (dings, service parts, etc, etc). Pay a little more, and get the best example you can find. All these other "market value" priced pieces are beat to heck and back. All of this is just my 0.02 |

Anyone complaining the ask is too high clearly doesn’t have a four line random serial on their wrist! The price is within spitting distance- these are hard to find, let alone clean and not abused. NOS examples regularly sell for $12-13K. I think $9,000 would be fair for all parties these days.
The key here is random serial- parachrom blue hairspring. It doesn’t make anymore logical sense than the 3186 premium of the 16710, but that’s just the way it is. |

I found an unworn one owner (full set of course) random 14060M on C/24 by private seller last August. Asking 9k. After making contact and requesting a phone conversation the seller agreed on a 10% discount. Done deal for 8150. delivered.
