Cruising during Covid (pic-heavy)

Figured some wound want the lowdown on this. We took the wild boys on a 4-day cruise with stops in Nassau and MSC's private island. Like everything we've done over the last year and a half, we felt that MSC did a great job in making everyone feel safe (masks, daily temp checks, etc.) while allowing us to have a great time. Ship felt about 1/4 full.

Vaccinations were a requirement for 12 and up, and everyone had to have a negative test within 48 hours of departure. Buffets were not self-service, but I actually prefer it that way. Nassau did not allow unvaccinated people off the ship, so the kiddos stayed at the kids club while the wife and I explored the city again.

We've cruised on Carnival, Norwegian, Royal Caribbean, Celebrity and now MSC - and MSC was a pleasant surprise for us! Next cruise is a 7-day Alaskan on RCCL next May.

Great pics! I'd feel comfortable cruising under those conditions, especially to those locations. The smiles on your kids' faces are awesome, looks like they are living their best lives.

Looks like a beautiful trip. I have to make it down to the Bahamas one day.

Great pics as usual. Perfect timing too since we’ll be on basically the same cruise next week but on Mariner of the Seas with Royal Caribbean.

Great pics.
My bride and her mom friends went off on a similar girls trip last week via Royal Caribbean Freedom of the Seas. Similar route including RC's island Cocoa Cay and Nassau.
She also really liked the relaxed atmosphere and reduced crowds.

If you can deal with wearing a mask (which we've all done for over a year and a half now), then it's no different than walking into the grocery store.

Good thing is you don't have to wear them in open air environments, so pool decks are mask-free.

Additionally, the vaccination requirement, testing rules and daily temperature checks make you feel more secure.

Obviously none of this will make you absolutely immune to COVID - but at some point we have to find a way to live life with the virus, I would say.

Love to.

I keep dropping by but nobody answers the door.

I get that a lot actually.

Great photos, as usual. Nice vacations are great bonding time with family. We are quite a bit older and we miss our travels, but we’re not ready yet. Or sporting events, concerts or Broadway. Hopefully soon.
