Trading PP 5065 for 1680 Red
Thinking of moving my PP 5065A full set for a Red 1680 (Mark 4) full set plus cash coming to me. Wonder if this is a good move. Hope for some unbiased thoughts...haha. Cheers.

Those 1680 reds have been on the uptick for sometime and becoming more rare as I type this response, especially complete sets. It’s a beautiful workhorse that’s only going to increase in value. I’d do it in a heartbeat….

This is a trade I’d make personally. Only because I like that particular vintage Rolex over that particular older PP. if you’ll enjoy the sub more than the PP….make the trade.

wouldn't do it.
assuming your intent is to wear the watches, i'm more comfortable with the sapphire crystal and water resistance of the aqua as well as the lesser identifiable aqua in this changing world.

Leaving present and future value out of the equation I think the red sub blows away the aquanaut!!

what else do you have in your collection? I have both, they're both awesome watches but very different.
I probably wouldn't do it, but that's because I find the 5065 very unique relative to the rest of my watches. |

Another 5065 owner here. I wouldn't do it. You have a very unique watch that is destined to be a classic. But at the end of the day it's your choice
