Wear the watch with proud, I wouldn't touch / polish as those are memories made by your father passing to you. |

Very sorry to hear about the loss of your dad. I’m sure he would want you to wear and enjoy that watch as often as you can. As someone who recently lost both parents (at relatively young ages), You will be surprised how often you are focusing on life and the smallest thing you notice (something you may not have noticed in the past) will trigger a memory that reminds you of a happy time with loved ones. It can actually be quite cathartic and I hope you get that feeling every time you wear your dad’s watch.

Personally, I would remove the scratches etc.
When you look at the watch, it is the watch that evokes cherished memories, not the scratches.
