would also add that the initial release 2016 116500lns did come with the soft edge cases.

The only addition that would make me “COMPLETELY” satisfied and thus the icing on the cake to my collection, would be to add a John Mayor green Daytona.

But, I have a feeling that will never happen. I can’t even get my AD to sell me a Datejust anymore!

IMHO the 116520 is much more elegant looking, the 500 is very sporty.

I would have no problem wearing my white 116520 with a suit, but would think twice with the 500.

I guess that is what they were going for, but if you are looking for a more elegant watch the 116520 is the clear winner.

In white, 16520 and 116500 are the clear winners. In black, 16520, along with 116520, are both great. 116500 not so much.

Initially I fell in love with the 500, had to have one (wore one for 2+ years), but ultimately to my surprise I gravitated back to the 520...

The 500 feels a bit more blingy, sporty, and bigger with the reflective ceramic bezel that really pops. The 520 is slightly more understated/dressy and hearkens back to vintage more for me, while retaining the good modern qualities (in-house movement, modern clasp with 5mm adjustment, overall robust solid feeling). Definite downside is that if you even breathe on the 520 bezel, it will scratch and show wear. But to me that gives it a cool, vintage, worn element par with use vs the 500 will always have the ceramic bezel looking pristine vs the bracelet case and clasp for what it's worth

I preferred the white dial for 520 because of the reflective silver subdials, again a bit more subtle and elegant, compared to the more sporty black subdials on zenith and 500

116520 black for me. Vintage like charm with the 4130, best of both worlds and underrated IMHO.

But a new bezel is cheap. $200ish from RSC if memory serves. Better than paying to replace a chipped ceramic, I’m sure that is 2 or 3 times the price.

I had a white dial 16520, both color dials of 116520, and now a black 116500. I wear them versus collecting them, I prefer the aesthetics of the ceramic bezel current version over all of my previous ones.
A new or updated SS Daytona will be along someday, I hope they keep being evolutionary versus revolutionary.

Not interested what will hold its value as I only buy watches I want to own and wear irrespective of perceived value or hype.
Please change the record. You say the same thing every time you post (regardless of the subject matter). Very tiresome

Agree.

Wearing a ceramic Daytona with a suit is like wearing a sub with a suit. Young professionals have done the latter for decades until they realized it doesn't look good.

500 is the most popular new Daytona ever imo but I don’t care about it’s value and I hope one of my two sons won’t care either some day

I prefer the 116500 in either dial color. I like the ceramic bezel and the appearance better and I have owned both.

I much prefer the 116500LN (either color) over 116520 (either color).

While I think the white LN is stunning, I believe the black is a better daily wearer — much like the current black Sub. It is “perfect” in my option.

It's great. The other advantage is a daytona straddles sport and dress.
