My DJ stops after winding it up
The Datejust is about 11 years old and I have not used it for about 4-6 months. It has only been sitting in it's watch box.
Usually I wind it up and shake it a little very softly and it starts going with no problems. This time however I had to shake it a little more to get it to start, and as soon as it started it stopped again after probably 3-6 seconds or so. I tried several times and it just stops again. I did wind it at least 40 turns but it still did not help. So I gave it a wash in some lukewarm water and it suddenly started working and looks to be working fine now. But this has never happened before, so I was thinking perhaps the oil was clumped up or something? Anyone experienced the same or know if this is an issue or no problem at all? As mentioned it looks to be working fine and keeping the time now.
