A new appreciation for my Seamaster 41mm
Good morning.
I thought you guys might find this interesting and some will be able to relate. I’ve had my Seamaster for 5 years now! I was never a huge fan of the bracelet, I upgraded to the PUSH clasp a couple years ago. I think I paid £80 for that. Pretty sure it’s nearly £300 now. Over multiple occasions, I flirted with the idea of trading it in for a BB58, BBGMT or even putting it towards a Speedy 3861. So for it’s 5th birthday, so decided to splash out on some nato straps from Watchgecko. I have to say, the straps are fantastic! What I love about this Seamaster, the ceramic insert plays with the light so well. It sometimes looks grey. The only black dial with the subtle red text and second hand tip. These nato straps really allow the beautiful of the case, the insert and dial to sing. I now feel, strangely enough, the original bracelet suffocates the case. I can’t really overstate what adding these straps has done for my appreciation of this watch. With the crazy price increases Omega and brands in general are bringing in nowadays. I’m very happy to say this watch cost me £2910 5 years ago! Thanks for listening to my waffle. Few pictures of said NATO’s. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Nice SMP300, love that glossy black dial makes the markers pop up
Try to add some mixed two tone colours on that nato's I think it will look great |

Class Seamaster! The last picture in particular looks fantastic. You will never get anything comparable for this price again. So keep it.

I don't think the 41mm glossy dial SMP gets as much appreciation as it deserves. The current wavy dials look fantastic but so does the depth of the glossy predecessor, which also brings out the dimensions of the applied indices more. These can currently be had for at or just above £3k, so they are a really good value proposition.

Cheers guys!
Yes the grey is my favourite as well. I was toying with the idea of an Omega nato but when I got these from Watchgecko. I knew I made the right decision. That last picture, it’s so hard to capture how nice the dial is when the light hits it. Regarding the value proposition, the new Speedy 3861 Sapphire Sandwich. A lot has been made about the upgrade you get with the SS. Polished bracelet, applied Omega logo on the dial etc. This Seamaster has applied Omega logo and text. Ceramic bezel insert. As said by someone, for under £3k, these are massively underrated. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

That's a fantastic watch and a lot for the money. I remember when these third generation variants came out I really missed the wave dial in some ways. Over the years with a wave dial already in the collection, this has become one of my favorites. Certainly can't to wrong with this piece and those straps go very well with it.

That is my favourite version, without the silly waves.
Beautiful. .nic |
